Wicker Care & Maintenance

Resin Wicker

All of our wicker furniture is resin wicker. A major advantage of resin wicker is that it is antimicrobial, which inhibits the growth of mold and mildew. Although wicker is easy to maintain, even the most durable wicker needs to be cleaned occasionally.

Cleaning

1. Make sure all cushions are removed.

2. Rinse furniture thoroughly with clean water.

3. Combine mild soap and lukewarm water to create a cleaning solution.

4. Gently clean the wicker with a soft bristle brush or sponge. If possible, get between the weaves, which will help loosen dirt and grime.

5. When you have finished brushing or sponge cleaning the furniture, wash it down again with clean water until all soap residue is completely removed.

6. Allow to air dry.

Use nonabrasive materials and avoid excessive scrubbing.

Rope

We manufacture all furniture specifically for outdoor use, including our products that incorporate rope prominently into their designs. Due to its polyethylene fibers, the rope is weather resistant and durable. In order to maintain their longevity and appearance, these pieces must be properly cared for and maintained.

The polyethylene rope has been designed to require as little maintenance as possible. The rope may be protected with a fabric and upholstery protector, but you should test it first to ensure it does not alter the rope in any way.

Cleaning

Spot Cleaning

1. Make sure all cushions are removed.

2. Combine mild soap and lukewarm water to create a cleaning solution.

3. Lightly blot the solution on to the rope.

4. Allow the solution to sit for 1 minute.

5. Rinse the area until all soap residue is completely removed.

6. Allow to air dry.

Use nonabrasive materials, avoid excessive scrubbing, and do not use a high-pressure hose.

In order to prevent any cutting or fraying, please keep sharp objects away from the rope.

Frame Care & Maintenance

Aluminum

Aluminum requires relatively little maintenance. This rust-proof material is commonly used for structure/frame work under other materials in our furniture. If this is the case, clean the furniture as normal, following the primary care directions for the materials on the surface. This cleaning should work well for the underlying aluminum as well.

Cleaning

1. Make sure all cushions are removed.

2. Rinse furniture thoroughly with clean water.

3. Combine mild soap and lukewarm water to create a cleaning solution.

4. Using the cleaning solution wipe down the frame with a non-abrasive towel or sponge.

5. When you have finished brushing or sponge cleaning the furniture, wash it down again with clean water until all soap residue is completely removed.

6. Dry with a lint-free microfiber towel.

Use nonabrasive materials.

The aluminium will never need to be resealed or treated with chemicals or mechanical processes.

Washing and rinsing furniture frequently in coastal regions is essential to preventing salt deposits from damaging the finish.

E-coated Steel

Another framing material we use is e-coated steel frames. These frames use an anti-corrosive coating to ensure resistance to harsh weather conditions. Similar to the aluminum framing this material is commonly used for structure/frame work under other materials in our furniture. If this is the case, clean the furniture as normal, following the primary care directions for the materials on the surface. This cleaning should work well for the underlying steel as well.

Cleaning

The steel will never need to be resealed or treated with chemicals or mechanical processes.

Olefin Fabric

Olefin is a lightweight, soft fabric designed specifically for outdoor use that we use for all of our cushions. Olefin fabric is a synthetic-based polypropylene fabric. Having a stain-resistant and durable material is a significant benefit if you have pets or children in your home. Despite the fabric's toughness, accidents happen, so here are some tips for keeping it looking great.

Cleaning

Spot Cleaning

1. Remove the slipcover from the cushion if possible.

2. Combine mild soap and lukewarm water to create a cleaning solution.

3. Lightly blot the solution on to the cover.

4. Allow the solution to sit for 1 minute and up to 10 minutes for tough stains.

5. Rinse the area until all soap residue is completely removed.

6. Allow to air dry.

PREPARE YOUR FURNITURE FOR WINTER

We design our Haven Way furniture to stand up to the weather elements so you can use them year after year. Winter months, however, can bring ice, snow, and extreme temperatures that can adversely affect longevity. We recommend preparing your furniture for the winter season.

It's wise to move your furniture to an indoor covered location such as your garage, shed, or basement if you have the space. If that's not possible we have provided a few steps you should follow when leaving your furniture outdoors for the winter months:

1. All furniture should be cleaned with clean lukewarm water and mild soap.

2. Dry completely with a lint-free microfiber towel.

3. Minimize the space taken up by the pieces.

4. Remove any cushions and store them indoors.

5. By covering your outdoor furniture with a high-quality breathable cover, you will help prevent extended periods of direct sunlight and minimize fading.
